Mantorville Spring Fling on Saturday

Mantorville’s Spring Fling returns in 2024 this Saturday, May 18, at Riverside Park.
A yearly favorite, the Garden Tractor Show and Parade” will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Riverside Park. Come and show off your garden tractor whether it is unique, vintage or decorated. The parade of tractors will follow at 1 p.m.
The Mantorville Farmers Market will also kick off the 2024 season. The market will be open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Because of construction on Highway 57, the market will be at the Riverside Park Shelter.
For the younger set, Rookie the Clown will also be at the park shelter from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. making his popular balloon animals.
A BBQ lunch will be available at the Mantorville Senior Center, 601 Clay St., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Takeout is available.
“Cabin Fever” will be playing at the Senior Center from 12 to 2 p.m.
A garden seminar is planned for 1:30 p.m. at the Welcome Center on Main Street.
This year’s program will deal with “Gardening in Tough Conditions.” Among the topics are: what will the 2024 gardening season bring, more dry conditions, wet conditions, chilly temperatures.
Everyone is invited to bring their questions. A discussion on ash tree treatment and replacement is also planned.
The Garden Seminar Program is offered by the Master Gardener Program of the University of Minnesota Extension Division.
Following the seminar there will be a Plant Exchange at 2:30 p.m. at the Welcome Center. Gardeners are invited to bring their labeled perennials, cuttings, bulbs, and more to swap.
