Judith Karen Dahl, 78, Dodge Center

Judith Karen Dahl, age 78 of Dodge Center, MN passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023, with her loving family by her side.
Judy was born on August 3, 1945, to Wilfred and Lorraine Thome. She spent her childhood on the family dairy and crop farm in Stacyville, Iowa. She graduated from Stacyville Visitation High in 1963. She continued her education at St. Mary’s School of Practical Nursing where she graduated in 1965. On July 23, 1966, she married James Dahl. They started building their family in Rochester, before moving to Dodge Center in 1978.
Judy was a ray of sunshine and a beacon of love and compassion. She worked as a nurse at Mayo Clinic for 43 years until her retirement. She loved gardening, crafting, and cooking. She especially enjoyed making lefse with her family and selling it for others to enjoy. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her many beloved friends as well as making baby quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Wilfred and Lorraine, and her brother Dean Thome.
Judy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim, and her three children Brian (Julie) Dahl, Kim (Tom) Pingel, and Barb (Collin) Keller. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Kayla, Erik, Kari, Emily, and Jacob as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Karmen, Liam, and Kendall. She is survived by her sisters, Jeanette Retterath, Beth Hackenmiller, and Amy Warrington as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 3rd at 2:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1904 Mantorville Ave N, Kasson.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2 from 5:00-7:00pm at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 25 South Street SW, Dodge Center and one hour prior to the service at church. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Mayo Clinic Hospice Program.
