Nanda Reber, 83, Pine Island

Nanda A. Reber, 93, of Pine Island, Minn., passed away Jan. 5, 2017 at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan 9, 2017 at Mahn Family Funeral Home – Mahler Chapel with Pastor Daniel Ashpole officiating. Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home – Mahler Chapel. Burial was in the Pine Island Cemetery.
Nanda Arline Rew was born on Dec. 19, 1923 in West Concord to Charles “Leon” and Elizabeth (Hause) Rew. She graduated from West Concord High School in 1941. 
Nanda married Walter Reber on Dec. 12, 1942 at Berne Church. They made their home on the family farm, raised their seven children and farmed. After they retired together, they moved to Kasson in 1994. Walter passed in 2003 and Nanda moved to West Concord. Nanda was an active member of Assembly of God Church in Pine Island. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her family. Nanda is survived by her six children; Marie (Ron Shelstad) Geise of Dodge Center, Myron Reber of Mantorville, Virginia (Dale) Hayward of Pine Island, Nancy Reber of Pine Island, Joy Reber of Kasson, and Emma (Patrick) O’Brien of Kasson; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Reber of Pine Island.
Nanda was preceded in death by her husband Walter; son, Ernest “Festus” Reber; an infant daughter; brother, Roger Rew; and sister, Ruth (Rew) Hanson.
