Nacia Olson, 44, Dodge Center

Nacia Rochelle Olson, 44, of Dodge Center, passed away Jan. 9, 2017, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester after a long and well-fought battle with cancer. She was truly a warrior in this battle, just like her father, who lost his battle with cancer last May.
Nacia was born May 7, 1972 in Winona, Minn. She was adopted by Lowell and Candy Olson Oct. 31, 1972. Nacia graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1990. She graduated from St Cloud State University with a teaching degree in 1995. She began her teaching career at Zumbro Education District Alternative School in Dodge Center teaching English. She later took a position in Owatonna at the Rose Alternative Learning Center, teaching English there for 13 years. In Sept. 2013, she came back to Triton Middle School to teach English and language arts. She touched the lives of all of her students, her fellow staff members and the entire community by her creativity, her compassion and her love of teaching. She was honored in 2006 as Minnesota Alternative Schools Member of The Year. She was also very active in MAAP STARS and her students won numerous awards under her direction. She was also active with student council and taught GED classes. 
On April 1, 2006, Nacia Olson and Rick Ramer were blessed with the birth of their twins, Max and Mallory. Max and Mallory were the joy of Nacia’s life and were the beneficiaries of her wonderful teachings about exploring and living life to the fullest with love always being at the center of every path they took together. In March 2013, she met Randy Ferson and he became a very special part of her journey. They enjoyed many great times together and became engaged in March 2016. Nacia enjoyed spending time with her children, her family and friends and enjoyed watching many different sporting events. She touched the lives of so many people and will always be loved and remembered for her creativity in teaching and for living her life to the fullest. 
Nacia is survived by her fiancé, Randy Ferson; her children Max and Mallory; mother Candy (Tony) Mulholland; brother Gary (Lisa) Olson; step-mother Liz Olson; step-sister Alissa Theuer; step-brother Wyatt Theuer; maternal grandmother, Lolita Adams; and many aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by her father, Lowell Olson.
Friends and family are welcome to join the family on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, 308 2nd ST NW in in Dodge Center, Minn. The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church.
