Miss Dodge Center crowned

Two young women from Dodge Center were crowned Miss Dodge Center last Saturday evening.
Haley Yankowiak and Emmily Wilson will both have the title Miss Dodge Center for the coming year. Alamae Gutierrez and Paityn Sackett were named Little Miss Dodge Center and Adam Vacura was named Mr. Ambassador.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the event that was called the Ag Days Queen until 1964 when the first Miss Dodge Center was crowned.
Yankowiak is the daughter of Rick and Michelle Yankowiak and was sponsored by Dodge Country Club. Wilson is the daughter of Stuart and Tara Wilson and sponsored by the Dodge Center American Legion Post #384.
Alamae is the daughter of Ashley Chesley and Jesus Gutierrez and sponsored by Pure Country Dining. Paityn is the daughter of Mike and Billy Jo Sackett and sponsored by Style City on Main.
Vacura is the son of Carla Vacura and Mark Vacura and sponsored by Greenwood, Jamie J. Standinger, PCA.
The 2015 royalty were crowned by the 2014 royalty Rachel Munson; third attendant, Samantha Fernandez and Little Miss Hayden Sackett. Wilson was first attendant at last year’s pageant. Sierra Jensen was 2014 second attendant.
Miss Dodge Center and Mr. Ambassador will each receive a $300 scholarship and Little Miss Dodge Center will receive a $100 Savings Bond.
This year’s pageant was the 60th anniversary with all past Dodge Center royalty invited to attend a reception prior to the crowning of the new Royal Court.
Twenty-one previous royalty were in attendance including Shirley Stebbins Stockel who was named Ag Days Queen at the first pageant in 1955. Two other Ag Days Queens attended including Mary Sunness Moser from 1957 and Sharon Trapp Whitlow from 1960.
