Meredith Skalicky, 71, West Concord

Meredith “Rusty” Skalicky, age 71, of West Concord, Minn., passed away on Aug. 5, 2016, at the Owatonna Homestead Hospice House.
 Meredith was born on June 11, 1945, to Verne and Ruth Redeker in Mason City, Iowa. She graduated from high school in Owatonna, Minn., in 1963. On May 5, 1984, she married the love of her life, Bernard (Bernie) Skalicky. They were happily married for 32 years. They lived in Kasson. For 30 years, she worked in the bakery at Erdman’s Country Market. Rusty loved reading, and also enjoyed coloring and doing word searches. She also had an impressive collection of beanie babies.
 She is survived by her husband, Bernie Skalicky of Circle Drive Manor in West Concord, Minn. She is also survived by her three siblings: Susan Redeker Klinkhammer (Gary), Corvallis, Ore.; Bill Redeker, Park City, Utah; Elizabeth Redeker Paige (David), Louisville, Ky.; and three nieces, two nephews and six great nieces and nephews.
 Memorials preferred to Circle Drive Manor, West Concord (Rusty and Bernie’s loving home these past years) or a charity of your choice
 A Memorial Service was held on Aug. 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna with Reverend Dean Smith officiating.  Visitation was held at the church one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will be in Rice Lake Cemetery
