Marvin Nord, 69, Hayfield

Marvin Nord 69, passed away on Oct. 29, 2016, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
He was born March 5, 1947,  in Kasson, to Harold Nord and Mavis (Hegna) Seim. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1966 and enlisted in the US Army from 1968-1970. Marvin was united in marriage to Sandra Rae Gustafson on Dec. 12, 1970, in Osage, Iowa and was married for 45 blessed years. They resided in Kasson until 2005.
Marvin worked for the Greenway Elevator in Kasson until 1970, then he got a job at Molde and Lawrence Trucking firm, where he worked until 2005. He purchased a bar and grill in Hayfield in 2005, which he named “Marv’s Bar and Grill.” He moved to Hayfield in 2007, where he resided until his passing.
Upon retirement he loved to travel to South Padre Islands for the winters, driving his Corvette, doing special fun trips with friends, motorcycle riding in the spring and summer months and going up for a family vacation to northern Minnesota with his family and grandchildren. He loved to travel around Hayfield in the summer in his souped-up golf cart, but the most important time for him was spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.  He was also a member of the American Legion in Kasson and the VFW in Mantorville.
 Marvin is survived by his wife; Sandra of Hayfield, children; Christopher Nord of Hayfield, James (Susan) Nord of Arden Hills and Robin (Bobby) Gullickson of Kasson; nine grandchildren; Alyssa, Devon, Brittnee, Brooke, Kaylee, Oskar, Louis, Addie and Maryx; Brothers; Bruce Nord (Nancy) and Scott Seim (Koreen); Sisters, Diana Ramer (John), Sally Johnston  (Jerry) Vickie Ranvek (Mike) and Rita Patterson (Bill).  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, Harold Nord and Mavis Seim, step-father, Lyle Seim, father-in-law, Roger Gustafson and two nephews, Darrin Nord and Lyle Seim.
A visitation was held on Nov. 4 at Czaplewski Funeral Home in Dodge Center.  A Celebration of life was held at Harold’s Club in Dodge Center. The family request no flowers.
