Mantorville Chamber elects new officers; decides on schedule

Members of the Mantorville Chamber of Commerce elected new board officers at their meeting Feb 1 including President, Bob Soland, Vice President, Melanie Dobson, Secretary, Paul Larsen, and Treasurer, Lynnette Nash. 
The group also discussed the schedule of events for the coming year. They had held a workshop Jan 18 and drafted the plan.
Of note, the Mantorville Restoration Association’s annual ‘Mulligan Stew’ fundraiser is scheduled for March 16 and at that event, the town’s new logo and motto will be launched.
April 1 is the Dodge County Expo in Dodge Center at the Triton school complex and the chamber will participate in that event. Lynnette Nash of the Mantorville Chocolate Shoppe typically donates samples of chocolate from her store to draw people into the chamber’s booth at the Expo.
April 15 is the Easter Egg Hunt. Nash spearheads that event with the help of Kasson-Mantorville students who are members of the National Honor Society.
May 6 is the Art Guild Tea, titled ‘Classical Books’ this year.
Beginning May 16 and running through October, the Farmers Market will be set up in Riverside Park on Tuesdays. Nash registered the market with the state so it appears in the ‘Minnesota Grown Directory.’
May 18, 19, and 20 is the annual Spring Fling with a giant rummage sale, bake sale, garden tractor show, plant exchange, and other activities.
June 24 and 25 is Stage Coach Days, which is big draw for tourists to come enjoy the festival’s activities including music, the town’s restaurants, shops and friendly ambiance. The Chamber will have a food stand at that event.
