The Dodge County Relay for Life — Dodge County Stroll — raised money for the American Cancer Society for 33 years in Dodge County. Altogether, the group of volunteers raised $3,477,500.
The organization often ranked as one of the top counties in the nation to raise funds per capita.
We want to thank every person who participated through the years including the teams of volunteers who raised funds and walked the track with us, and the many businesses, community supporters, and individuals who contributed the funds and items to make us one of the top Relays in the country. We were all part of the huge, glorious effort that raised so much money for such a worthy cause: the American Cancer Society.
It is with great sadness that we have decided to close this event. We have fewer volunteers and fewer participants in the event each year, although we still have a strong base of contributors.
We are meeting as a group to decide on where we go from here, and we are hoping to have some new ideas and events in the future to continue our support. The event has helped support so many patients and families over the years through the generous support of this community, we can’t thank you enough. We are not done, we are just moving forward and hoping we will continue to retain support throughout Dodge County.
Thank you again for all your support.
Sincerely,
Lisa Rollins, Chair
Aleta Abbott, Past Chair
