KoMettes win HVL Jazz Championship

The Kasson-Mantorville Varsity Dance Team took home the HVL Jazz championship during the conference’s dance championships on January 27.
The title marks the fourth stratight season that KoMettes have taken first in the event and also finished as a runner-up in the Kick competition later in the evening.
With the goal to have the lowest possible score the KoMettes finished with a 4 after the judges dropped the two worst ranks and the best ranking. While K-M’s score of 6.5 in the kick competition was close to Cannon Falls’ mark of 4.5, it signaled a great night for the team as it looks to keep momentum rolling into the Section 1AA Dance Tournament on February 11.
“I am incredibly proud of our team’s performance in both jazz and high kick,” K-M Dance Team coach Karen Besch exclaimed. “The KoMette dancers are a dedicated team of athletes who have worked extremely hard to achieve their goals.
