KoMets sweep first HVL triangular

The Kasson-Mantorville wrestling team has been dominant wherever they’ve competed over the past couple of seasons and as they jumped into their first HVL triangular of the season, they showed that they are still the kings of the conference with victories over Triton and Byron on December 20.
While there wasn’t much suspense throughout the night as the KoMets were dominant in almost every match they competed in, there werew still a couple of highlights that caught the eye.
In what may have been the match of the night, Brody Hegge took on Triton’s Dominic Hedreon in a 145-pound match. The two wrestlers battled back and forth as the North Gym was packed at Kasson-Mantorville High School. As the match grinded to a 10-10 tie late in the third period, Hegge picked up a late takedown to earn a 12-10 victory and to send the KoMets’ bench into a frenzy.
Jace Minelli (106 pounds), Nic VanOort (132 pounds), Brady Laumb (138 pounds), Jackson Kennedy (152 pounds), Ethan Shea (160 pounds), Garsen Schorr (195 pounds) and Brett Paulson (285 pounds) also picked up victories against the Cobras in a 75-0 victory.
