KoMets prepare for Knights, AA Showcase

At the Southwest Minnesota Challenge, the Kasson-Mantorville volleyball team had issues dealing with consistency. In two matches on Friday night, the team cruised to a pair of two-set victories, but couldn’t keep that momentum going as they dropped three straight matches to throw cold water on their performance.
A week later, the KoMets looked extremely sharp in picking up a pair of wins in preparation for what could be their biggest challenge of the season.
The KoMets got off to a great start by dismantling Cannon Falls on Tuesday evening. With a gym that was packed to the rafters, K-M was able to use the home court advantage and pick up a clean sweep of the Bombers (25-18, 25-20, 25-21). Senior captain Lilly Braun played a huge part in the victory as she set up 26 assists while keeping rallies alive with six digs.
“We were able to play a bit more steadily last week,” head coach Adam VanOort said of the performance. “We limited the unforced errors that we had previously, but we need to improve our consistency over the span of an entire match.”
