KoMets place third at Christmas Tournament

During their victory over Lake City on Tuesday night, Kasson-Mantorville junior wrestler Brady Berge didn’t wrestle. As he went to the middle of the mat to accept his win via forfeit, it had the feel of a caged mythical beast.
A couple days later, during the All Force Minnesota Christmas Tournament, Berge would be unleashed against New Prague’s Griffin Parriott. Normally, Parriott would wrestle at 152 pounds, but decided to bulk up in case of an epic showdown with his training partner.
With Berge ranked third in the nation and Parriott ranked second in their respectful weight classes, this was the showdown that everybody wanted to see…and it didn’t disappoint.
As the match dragged on with a 1-1 tie in the third period, Berge dove in and got a takedown in the final seconds to win a 3-1 decision. The victory gave Berge his fourth victory at the tournament.
