Kasson-Mantorville athlete earns NWCA Scholar All-America honors

Noah Ryan, a 2017 graduate of Kasson-Mantorville High School, was named to the 2020 NWCA Division II Scholar All-America team.
A member of the #1 nationally ranked St. Cloud State University (SCSU) wrestling team, Ryan recently completed his sophomore season with the Huskies.
A total of 267 student-athletes from 49 universities nation-wide were honored in 2019-20.
In order for a student-athlete to be recognized with this award, they must have a minimum 3.4 cumulative grade average on a 4.0 scale, with that benchmark at 3.2 for those who have qualified for the 2020 NCAA DII wrestling championships. The athletes must have also competed in a minimum of five dates of competition.
A runner-up in the 197-pound bracket at the 2020 NCAA regional, Ryan went 18-4 for the Huskies in 2019-20.
SCSU ended its season with a number one ranking in the final NCAA Division II national poll. The Huskies posted a 16-0, 8-0 NSIC record in 2019-20, which included a first place team finish at the 2020 NCAA DII Super 5 Regional.
Ryan is a criminal justice major at SCSU.
