K-M construction on time and under budget

 
 Overall, the massive construction project that the Kasson-Mantorville School District took on is right on time and remains under budget. 
“We have nearly $600,000 still in our contingency. We still might find some HVAC issues or electrical issues when we demo the media center and music rooms, but we think that is a sufficient amount of money as we go into the summer,” said Superintendent Mark Matuska. “I can assure you that the contingency is still healthy, and we are excited to put a couple of the projects that we cut initially back in.” 
The main part of the project being put back in the plan is the lower level locker rooms. Construction began on this area on Monday, March 7, because boys’ winter sports have come to a close and boys’ spring sports, Matuska says, don’t use those locker rooms as consistently as the winter sports. 
Another project being put back into the plan is the coaches’ locker room renovation.
