K-M agrees to contract with principals

On a unanimous vote the Kasson Mantorville School Board approved a contract between the District and the K-M Principals Association, during its most recent meeting.
For the current school year, Elementary School Principal Courtney Frie will be paid $122,970, Middle School Principal will be paid $119,701 and High School Principal Trent Langemo will be paid $136,971, all who are paid for 225 workdays per year.
Beginning July 1, their salaries will bump up to $127,151 for Frie, $123,771 for Larsen, and Langemo will be paid $141,628.
As part of the contract, it also outlines what happens if there is a strike or a work stoppage due to another bargaining group stating “The administrators covered by this agreement, in the event of a strike or work stoppage by other groups of district employees will consider themselves to be on duty for the purpose of carrying out Board policy and ensuring the safety of personnel and property.”
“In no event will the compensation for administrators be halted or suspended due to strikes or work stoppages of other district employees,” the language in the contract reads.
The two-yearcontract which is retroactive from July 1, 2023, will expire on June 30, 2025.
