Joan Betty Naylor, 87, Kasson

Joan Betty Naylor, 87, of Kasson, formerly of Claremont, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020 in Farmington from oral cancer.
Joan was born on April 13, 1933 in Elysian, to Joseph and Laura (Worrel) Warner. She grew up in Claremont.
She was united in marriage to Earl “Count” Naylor on Sept. 8, 1961 in Austin. Together they raised their four children in Dodge Center. She worked at the Dodge Country Club for several years and then as a manager at the Dodge Center American Legion. She became their very popular chef for their steak fries and was known for her perfectly cooked steaks.
Joan and Count co-owned Naylor’s Nook in Wisconsin in the late 70’s. In her retirement years, she nannied babies for several families. She continued to nanny for her last family long after their children grew up until just recently when she was too ill to continue. She became a bonus grandmother to them.
Joan enjoyed flea markets and antiquing. She was an impeccable housekeeper and loved to cook and bake for her loved ones. She read cookbooks as if they were novels.
Joan is survived by her children, Scott (Lee Ann) Knudson of Oneida, Tenn.; James Knudson of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Patty Jo (Lowie) Naylor-Rutten of Farmington; nine grandchildren and sixteen-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Richard Knudson.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials are preferred to IETF, International Essential Tremor Foundation, of which Joan suffered from.
