Jeffrey Lynn Mehnke, 79, Mantorville

Jeffrey Lynn Mehnke, 79, died July 26, 2024, at home with family and friends at his side. Jeff was born September 26, 1944, to Melvin and (Gladys) Moehnke in Austin, MN. He grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1963. Jeff joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era for two years. After an Honorable discharge from the military, he worked with MNDOT. He retired from Consolidated Freightways as a truck driver in 1998. Jeffrey married Anne Freeman on October 3, 1998, in Bryon, and they made their home in Mantorville. For 45 years Jeffrey attended the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. His love of motorcycles was second only to his passion for H.O. Trains.  He was an active member of the Teamsters, Milwaukee Road Historical Association, member of Rochester Harley Owners Group (HOG), and ran ten 5K Pork Power Mankato Marathons.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Anne, sister, Joyce (Dale) Peterson of Albert Lea, one niece, Lisa Peterson of Missouri.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Randy Peterson and a brother-in-law, David Maslowski.
A celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 801 7th Street SE in Kasson with a visitation one hour before the service at the funeral home.
