Holiday events continue in Byron, Dodge Center

City-wide holiday events continue this weekend with BrrrFest in Byron and the Triton Holiday Market in Dodge Center.
Byron activities kick off tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 13, with ZooDazzle at Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo from 4 to 8 p.m. with games, crafts, treats, a naturalist corner, visit with Santa and viewing of the lights display. ZooDazzle will continue from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Friday is also the deadline to enter the BrrrFest Lights at Night contest sponsored by Madonna Summit with donations to benefit the Byron Post Prom Party. Enter at https://www.byronchamber.com/ with winners announced at the tree lighting ceremony Saturday.
A full day of activities is scheduled for Saturday.
Events will include Breakfast with Santa at the Community Education Center, 630 1st Ave. NW, Handmade Holiday Market by local artisans from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 513 Third Ave. NE, an open house with treats and children’s games from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Byron Area Historical Center and Family Bingo at the American Legion, 505 Frontage Rd. NW from 1 to 3 p.m.
There will be an Open Mic hosted by Byron’s Diversity and Inclusion Council at the Community Education Center for students in grades six through 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. Pre-registration was necessary.
Gene’s Remodeling at 1067 fourth St. NE, Suite 250, will have children’s games, treats and hot cocoa from 4 to 7. There will also be a food drive collection of non-perishable items for a local food shelf. Otto’s Bakery at 513 Frontage Rd, NW will have an open house from 1 to 3 p.m.
The Christmas Tree Lighting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Park and Ride Lot and will include caroling, hot drinks and treats. It will be followed by fireworks at the Byron Community Recreation Complex, 1650 Fourth St. NE at 7 p.m.
Triton Community Ed will have its annual Holiday Market featuring local artists, vendors and business from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Triton Public Schools, 813 West Highway St. in Dodge Center.
Admission is free to the event and will also include pictures with Santa and sleigh rides sponsored by the Dodge Center Chamber of Commerce. Hot beverages will be served by the Salvation Army.
Also, in Dodge Center, the Dodge Center Fire Department will be collecting toys for Toys for Tots through Saturday at City Hall, 35 E. Main St.
Those attending the market are asked to park and enter at Triton Elementary School.
