Hogfest begins Friday in Claremont
Claremont’s annual Hogfest celebration gets under way Friday evening and continues through Sunday. A variety of events are scheduled, including outhouse races, garden and antique tractor pulls, Mud Bogs, a petting zoo, food vendors, children’s activities, and more.
Food vendors and beer sales will open at 5 p.m. Friday with the Outhouse Races being the first of the weekend events. The Garden Tractor Pulls begin an hour later at 6 p.m. The first Medallion Hunt clue will be announced and there will also be a Kids Scavenger Hunt.
The Friday night Street Dance will be from 8 p.m. to midnight featuring 507 Country.
A full day of activities is scheduled for Saturday with breakfast burritos available at the Pavilionfrom 8 to 11 a.m. and a bake sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 8:30 a.m. there will be rolls and coffee at the antique tractor pull area with the tractor pulls beginning at9 a.m.
A Vendor Market opens at 9 a.m. continuing until 5 p.m. Beer sales begin at 10 a.m. with food vendors opening at 11 a.m. and continuing until 11 p.m.
For the younger set there will be Coins in the Sand at 10 a.m., a petting zoo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., face painting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a Foam Party from 6 to 7 p.m.
Noon sees the start of the Beanbag Tournament and the popular Mud Bogs event starts at 3 p.m.
