Helping the community one kid’s meal at a time

As this coronavirus pandemic seems to get worse and worse by the day, small businesses are hit the hardest.
One small business, County Seat Coffeehouse, is trying to attract more busines by offering a free kid’s meal with any purchase and free delivery from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Owner Michelle Douk said they decided to offer a free kids meal because, “It’s something to help the community and it helps the parents by relieving their stress. I am a parent of three kids so when you’re going to work all day, you’re exhausted and you don’t want to come home and cook for your kids and yourself so we try to do something that is convenient for them.

“Also, for us, we don’t want to waste any food and during these times people are not going to come and eat out [like they normally do], so instead of throwing away food I decided to give it to the kids,” she said. She explained that it was important for her to do her part to help the community during this pandemic.

“I think that we all stay together, stand our ground and have a strong mind about it, we’ll get through this. If everyone is shutting their business down and not being supportive of the community, then what’s the world going to be,” she said.
