Helen J. McIntire, 94, Mesa, Ariz.

Helen was born on Sept. 28, 1926 in Rochester to Fred and Alma Schoenfelder. She was raised in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School in 1944.
On Oct. 22, 1944 she was married to Ward H. McIntire. They resided in Rochester with their three daughters, Barbara, Susan and Terry. She worked for the Mayo Clinic for 24 years before retiring.
Both Helen and Ward retired the same year and enjoyed traveling around the United States and Europe for several years before Ward passed away.
She decided in 1992 to move to sunny, warm Arizona where her oldest daughter and family lived. She remained in Mesa until her death.
Helen enjoyed traveling, researching family genealogy, cooking, sewing and her Red Hat friends, The Desert Darlings. She volunteered with Juvenile Justice in Arizona for many years.
A funeral service will be held in Mesa, in Mesa on Nov. 5, 2020 at Mariposa Gardens.
Burial and celebration of life will be held in Rochester at a later date.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan McIntire and Terry McIntire; granddaughter Kristen McCoy (Francesco Caban); brother, James Schoenfelder and son-in-law, William McCoy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Barbara McCoy; sisters, Florence Donahue, Mary Cox and Esther Runnells and brothers, Ernest and Alvin Schoenfelder.
