Hayfield defeats WEM

The Hayfield softball team defeated Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 11-6 last week.
Hayfield took a 3-1 lead after scoring three in the bottom half of the first inning.
After scoring two more in the bottom of the second with WEM scoring one in the top of the third.
Hayfield responded with three more runs in the bottom half of the inning and then another in the bottom of the fourth.
WEM responded with three in the top of the fifth, and another in the sixth, with Hayfield scoring two more in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Kenna Selk had two hits and an RBI, Nora Bamlet had three hits and two RBIs, and Melody Walker had three hits and three RBIs.
Elaina Masching pitched the complete game to pick up the win for Hayfield giving up 10 hits, three earned runs, three walks while striking out seven.
