Genelle Sylvia Bergerson, 93, Hayfield

Genelle Sylvia Bergerson, 93, passed away on July 6, 2021, peacefully at home with her family by her side.
Genelle was born on October 2, 1927, in her home on the farm in Freeborn County, the daughter of Winfred and Mary (Chicos) Crumb. She went to grade school in a one room school house in Matawan, Minn. She graduated from Freeborn High School in 1945. After graduation she worked in Minneapolis and Albert Lea.  
Genelle met her husband, Edward (Pat) Bergerson and they were married on June 21, 1947. They lived in Albert Lea and Austin before moving to Hayfield in 1960. Genelle worked at Sacred Heart Church as a secretary, was in the church choir and a Sacristan and worked at Maves Rest Home. She sold Avon, taught religion classes, worked at church for funerals and weddings.  
Genelle was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, and worked with the Boy and Girl Scouts for her four children.
Genelle is survived by her children, Julie (Mike) Enright, Hayfield, Patti (Mike) Chilson, Mantorville, and John Bergerson, Hayfield; many grandchildren and great grandchildren: Nick, Luke, Breeanna, Kelsie, Tyler, Sara, Charlotte, Ava, great-great grandchildren, Keyton, Keelie, Kamren, Addie, Ryker, Robbie, and Braiden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfred and Mary Crumb; husband, Pat Bergerson; two sons, Craig and Robert; granddaughter, Sharon Louks and great-great granddaughter, Callie.
Funeral mass was Saturday, July 10, 2021, with Father John Wilmot celebrating. Inurnment was in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
Genelle was the best mother anyone could ask for. Blessed be her memory.
