Fossum family holds reunion

The descendants of Ole and Inger Fossum held their annual Fossum Reunion on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the park at Hayfield. Two grandchildren, Deanna Bakke of Austin and Arlene Bjornson of Hayfield are still living.
Deanna Bakke said the Norwegian table prayer and a potluck dinner was enjoyed by all.
Renae Bakke and Bryan Finley presented a short program. Shahn Anderson gave an interesting talk on his tattoo business at Hopkins. He has been a well-known tattoo artist for thirty-five years and is President of the Alliance of Professional Tattoo Artists in America. Janette Dragvold played several selections on her nyckelharpa.
The door prizes were a watercolor painting donated by Arlene Bjornson and won by Shahn Anderson, and a lovely piece of hardanger donated by Renae Bakke and won by Jan Venem. Gabriel Duncan won the children’s prize, which was a bag of candy.
Pictures were taken and the oldest one present was Arlene Bjornson at 94, and Gabriel Duncan, 10, was the youngest.
Those in attendance were: Bryan Finley from Northfield, Bernette Drawe from Bloomington, Janette and Julie Dragvold from Lanesboro, Darlene Kyllo from Preston, Aaron and Gabriel Duncan and Farrah and Trevor from Stewartville, Deanna Bakke and Laura Larson from Austin, Jan Venem from Albert Lea, Brian Venem from Decatur, Tex, Cole Bjornson from Rochester, Dee Anderson from Maple Plain, John and Barb Thompson from Brooklyn Park, Shahn and Wanda Anderson from Waconia, John and Mindi McQuillian from Chanhassen, and Kevin Bjornson, Arlene Bjornson, Renae Bakke, and Tracy Anderson from Hayfield.
Committee members were Bryan Finley, Tracy Anderson, and Renae Bakke.
