Fern Violet Calhoun, 76, Hayfield

Fern Violet Calhoun, 76, of Hayfield, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, in Rochester. Fern was born February 20, 1945, in Rochester, to Elmer and Ruth (Remer) Folsom. On September 29, 1962, she married Charles Elmer Calhoun Sr. She was an amazing cook, loved Christmas time and traveling. She also enjoyed crocheting in her free time. She was always the one family could call to vent and look for guidance. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Calhoun Sr.; daughter, Debra Calhoun; son, Charles Calhoun Jr.; brother, Elmer Folsom Jr.; sister, Shirley Barker; great grandsons, Dakota Calhoun, and Tristian Hershberger. She is survived by her sisters, Sharon (Joe) DeClue of Austin, Janie (William) Hill of Dodge Center; brother, Ray (Ginger) Folsom of Washington; son, Dale Calhoun of Hollandale; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 25 South Street SW in Dodge Center, with Pastor John Todor officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Milton Cemetery, North of Mantorville.
