Elmquist resigns as county administrator

Dodge County commissioners will begin the search for a new county administrator after the resignation of Jim Elmquist was accepted at Tuesday’s board meeting.
Elmquist, who has served as county administrator for the past six years, is taking a new position as the city administrator in Crest Hill, Illinois. His last day on the job will be March 16.
Elmquist said the timing was right for the move, as his children will be in college next year and he has wanted to return to the Illinois/Indiana area. He has previously lived in South Bend, Indiana, he said.
At Tuesday’s board meeting, commissioners discussed briefly how they will go about finding a successor.
In the interim, the administrator duties will be divided between current staff.
