Early morning fire engulfs Dodge Center home

At approximately 1:31 a.m. on Tuesday morning Dodge County Dispatch started receiving calls reporting a house on fire in Dodge Center, according to Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose.
Deputies responded to 16 Central Ave N. in Dodge Center to find the east side of the home fully engulfed. All occupants of the home were outside at the time and declined medical attention. Deputies then evacuated the neighboring home on 1st ST NE for safety.
The home owners reported waking up to the smell of smoke. One resident had to go out her bedroom window because of the flames on the outside of her bedroom door, Rose said.
The Dodge Center Fire Department and Kasson Fire Department assisted with the fire along with the Dodge County Ambulance Service. Minnesota Energy and Excel Energy both responded to assist.
Fire responders cleared the scene just before 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. The State Fire Marshal also responded at approximately 3:30 a.m. Fortunately, there were no injuries with this incident, Rose said.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this point and is being investigated by the Dodge Center Fire Department and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal.
