David Michael Wilcox, 55, Mantorville

David Michael Wilcox, 55, of Mantorville, MN, died by suicide at his home on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Dave was born November 16, 1969, in Rochester. He graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School. He attended University of Wisconsin-River Falls and, later, flight school in Dallas, TX, where he got his pilot’s license.
Dave was raised on the family farm near Mantorville and farmed with his dad and brother for a period of time. He was entrepreneurial in spirit, having founded and engaged in various ag-related business enterprises over the years, particularly soybean exports.
Dave was a passionate person who loved a good debate. He loved international travel, fine wine, grilling, and fast toys.
Dave was a proud father. He is survived by children, Elijah (Rochester), Olivia (Denver, CO), and Maggie Lou (Lincoln, NE); siblings, Jane (Michael) Hardwick and Mark (Michelle) Wilcox of Mantorville, and Connie (Vu) Le of Ft. Collins, CO; and his partner, Vicki Wiebke (Pine Island).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Wilcox; grandparents, Kathryn and Willard “Bill” Wilcox (Mantorville and Elysian), Pauline and Theo Runde (Riceville, IA); and nephew (Mantorville).
In celebration of Dave’s life, friends will gather from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Mantorville Saloon, 501 N Main St in Mantorville. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
