Darlene ‘Susie’ Sue Heusinkveld, 69, Mantorville

Darlene “Susie” Sue Heusinkveld, 69, of Mantorville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Seasons Hospice House in Rochester. 
Susie was born on June 23, 1951 to Gorman and Doris (Heins) Berg in Zumbrota. She grew up on a farm in Pine Island and graduated from Pine Island High School in 1969. 
She married Myron Reber and together they had three children. They had a dairy farm north of Mantorville. They later divorced. 
She married Ellsworth “Ell” Heusinkveld in 1997. They owned Riverside Acres tree farm in rural Mantorville and they currently resided in Mantorville.   
Susie worked as a waitress for many years. She started at the Cookie Jar in Mantorville and later worked at Country Pleasures Café in Kasson. In her more recent years, she was able to spend more time with Ell. They enjoyed playing cards, attending parades and having many family gatherings.
Susie also enjoyed cross stitching, reading, going on walks, having coffee with her friends (Birthday Club and Magnificent Seven), but most of all she loved seeing her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran church in Kasson and of the Kasson United Methodist church. She will be deeply missed. 
Susie is survived by her husband, Ell Heusinkveld; children, Jason (Crystal) Reber of Mantorville, Trista Reber of Nelson, Wis., Tiffany (Garrett) Duncanson of Kasson; grandchildren, Victoria “Tori” (Kody) Panacek, Taylor Reber, Haley (Zach Schultz) Reber, Ethan Ramey, Alexa Ramey, Grady Duncanson, Trisity Duncanson, Brody Duncanson and Bailey Duncanson; great-grandson, Ryatt Schultz; step-children, Mick (Cheryl) Heusinkveld, Tracey (Tim) McGuire, Mark (Lori) Heusinkveld, Darla Samudio; step-grandchildren, Jill Heusinkveld, Olivia Heusinkveld, Quinn McGuire, Amelia Heusinkveld, Eli McGuire and Shaun Samudio; siblings, Jerry (Carolyn) Berg, Larry (Mona) Berg, and Tom (Penny) Berg; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 301 8th Ave NW Kasson, with Pastor Dave Efflandt officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th Street SE Kasson, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville.
