Celebrate fall in Mantorville Oct. 26
Get ready to celebrate fall at the annual Fall Festival in Mantorville on Saturday, Oct. 26.
For the early birds, County Seat Coffeehouse will be serving coffee flights from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
If an early run is to your liking, participate in the Haunted Hustle 5k, sponsored by Dodge Refreshed, that gets under way at 9 a.m. The 5k will be followed at 10 a.m. by the Haunted Hustle one-mile Family Fun Run. On-line registration is available for both events through Friday, Oct. 18. Day of the race in-person registration will also be available on Oct. 26.
And since the races are the weekend before Halloween, costumes are encouraged.
Online registration through Oct. 18 is $40 for the 5k and $10 for the Family Fun Run. Race day registration is $45 for the 5k and $15 for the fun run.
A variety of events are also scheduled for the Fall Festival, sponsored by the Mantorville Chamber of Commerce, beginning at 10 a.m.
From 10 a.m. to noon, there will be a Bloody Mary Bar at the Hubbell House.
Starting at 10 a.m. and continuing to 3 p.m. there will be kids’ games, face painting, and Rookie the Clown in Riverside Park.
There will be a stroller/wagon parade at 11 a.m. and a Pet Costume Contest at 1 p.m.
Continuing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. a hot dog stand will be available, there will be Ghost Tour hay wagon rides, (starting at Riverside Park), Deb’s Crafty Cottage Sale at the park, and pumpkin painting at the Art Guild.
Activities continue in the evening with a performance of “Night in the Nutt House” put on by the Mantorville Theatre Company at 6:30 p.m. (reservations for this dinner theatre production must be made 72 hours in advance at mantorvilletheatrecompany.com) Fields Band and Halloween Party at the Mantorville Saloon begins at 8 p.m.
For those wishing to dress up their pet, the Pet Costume Contest will be at 1 p.m. at Riverside Park. Prizes will be awarded for Best Dog, Cat, Scariest, Funniest, and Most Original costumes.
There will also be a Fall Festival Coloring Contest. Stop by the County Seat, Chocolate Shoppe or Mantorville Square to pick up the coloring pages or download from the Mantorville Chamber Facebook page.
There are categories for ages 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and adult.
Colored pages must be turned in at Mantorville Square by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25. Prizes are provided by The Green Shack.
