Baumbach earns AA Coach of the Year Award

Byron High School 1998 graduate Jeremy Baumbach brought home some hardware last week after winning the Class AA Girls Soccer Coach of the Year Award.
“Winning the Class AA Coach of the Year award is an incredible honor, and I want to sincerely thank the Coaches Association for the recognition,” Baumbach said.
But he also sees the success as a team accomplishment, more than an individual award.
“It’s a testament to the culture we’ve built and the family we’ve created within our Ladybears Futbol program,” he said. “The dedication, hard work, and support of the players, assistant coaches, and entire community are what make achievements like this possible. I’m proud to be a part of it.”
Baumbach said he has always had a passion for soccer, from when he was a kid through his college playing days.
“That love for the game naturally led me into coaching. I’ve been coaching in Byron for 20 years now—eight years as the boys’ JV coach, and this is my 12th year as the girls’ varsity coach,” Baumbach said. “It’s been incredibly rewarding to stay connected to the sport and help develop young players both on and off the field.”
Baumbach said it was an honor to be recognized with the award, and said he found out before the team’s annual banquet.
“I think what made the moment special is being with my team at the banquet as I’m thankful to be part of such a strong soccer community/family,” he said.
