4 businesses at 1 location in Kasson Mini Mall

Four individual businesses, run by Stevie Ersland, Amanda Marsden Hulm, Katie Burbank and Trina Klunder make up an original business called The Main Alternatives in the Kasson Mini Mall.
Opening the business was delayed for 73 days because of the virus situation but they were finally able to open their business on June 1. Each individual business has its own hours.
Stevie Ersland, grew up in the Byron/Kasson area, and is a nationally Certified Massage Therapist, who has operated You Knead Therapy for 15 years. Ersland said she works with deep tissue massage, massage cupping, Thai massage, stretching and Ashiatsu (using bars from the ceiling for balance and her body weight to massage the client with her bare feet).
“If you don’t make time for your wellness, you will be forced to take time for your illness!” Ersland said.  Her website is at www.facebook.com/youkneadtherapy.
Amanda Marsden Hulm, moved from Sioux Falls, to Kasson a couple  of years ago. She operates Melt Away Massage and is a licensed massage therapist and has been in the business for 13 years.
She specializes in deep tissue therapy especially with athletes and sports injuries. She said she works on a fair amount of tension headache/migraine clients as well.  “There is nothing more rewarding than helping people in pain improve their quality of life,” Hulm said. Her website is at www.facebook.com/meltawaymassagetherapymn.
Katie Burbank is a retired RN who recently joined the business group and lives south of Kasson. She provides healing therapy through Reiki, an ancient Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation by “laying on hands” healing, with a special focus on loss and grief. She also offers Intuitive Tarot Readings for self-divination and therapeutic problem solving. Information can be found at her website at www.facebook.com/medcitynurse.
Trina Klunder grew up in Dodge County but now lives in Rochester and also recently joined the group. She has been a massage therapist for 19 years and will be offering massage services. She also uses a process known as Salty (dry salt therapy). Her clients will relax in the salt treatment room where they will breathe in the therapeutic, pharmaceutical-grade salt from a machine to treat ailments and symptoms, she said.
People noticed in the 1800’s that workers in the salt mines in Poland were not having the issues of respiratory conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, allergies and skin problems like many others in their communities, Klunder said. The process has other benefits including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and reducing immune system over sensitivity, she said. This procedure came to the USA in the last 20 years. Her website is at www.saltymn.com.
