Hayfield High School will have a new principal, following several years of having an interim principal.
Following Grant Klennert’s resignation in 2023, the district hired Jim Hecimovich, who came out of retirement.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Chaplains hosted their 1st Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Event Saturday afternoon at The Studio on Main Street in Kasson.
The event featured a silent auction; three live bands drew more than 100 attendees who came to support Dodge County’s law enforcement personnel.

The MTC Spring Comedy show, “The Outsider,” by Paul Slade Smith, directed by Madeline Sarasio Meyer, will open April 10 at the Mantorville Opera House.
The show runs through April 26. Show times are on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m, Sunday at 2 p.m.

Legislation would cap levy increases for cities

Kasson City Administrator Tim Ibisch briefed the city council earlier this month on a proposed bill that would create a levy cap for municipalities.
“This week, Republican lawmakers in the Minnesota Senate unveiled a package of tax relief bills — among those pieces of legislation is a proposal from Sen. Michael Kreun that would blunt the rapid pace of property tax increases,” Ibisch wrote in his report.
