NEWS ALERT: Snow causes slippery roads - rollover

There was a one car rollover involving a Ford Mustang, off Hwy. 14 near Kasson at about 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16. No injuries were reported. Icy road conditions are a major concern going into the weekend.

BREAKING NEWS - Icy road causes rollover in Dodge County

Wintery road conditions are believed to have contributed to a single car rollover Tuesday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. on Hwy. 34, just outside of Kasson. Three passengers, including the driver, were transported via ambulance for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

BREAKING NEWS: Dodge County crash kills man

An early morning crash Tuesday has taken the life of a 66-year-old man in Dodge County.
Severt R. Fiksen of Dodge Center was killed in the crash on Highway 56 north of Hayfield. He was driving a Ford Focus that smashed head-on into a Chevy Silverado.

BREAKING NEWS: Mantorville man faces misdemeanor charges in connection with 5-year-old boy’s death

The Olmsted County Attorney announced Wednesday that Myles Keller of Mantorville has been charged in connection with the crash that killed a 5-year-old Kasson boy in May.
A criminal complaint summons has been issued charging Keler with misdemeanor driving with an excess alcohol content and gross misdemeanor reckless driving causing death.

"Steve Johnson filed the necessary paperwork to withdraw from the ballot," Kasson Community Development Director Mike Martin said.

Shelter returned after state inquiry

The park shelter that has been the center of controversy in Kasson for the past month was returned to the city only after the Minnesota State Auditor’s Office inquired about it.

Stabbing victim’s condition improves

The condition of a 41-year-old stabbing victim in West Concord has improved, the West Concord Police Chief reports.
Chief Shannon Boerner said that the unidentified victim is in stable condition at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Boerner said investigators met with the victim Friday to get his side of what happened during the violent attack in West Concord Thursday afternoon.
