DC picks Colorado man

A few months ago the City of Dodge Center began its search for a new city administrator after Lee Mattson left to take a post in Waseca.
After an intensive search, and application process the city council and mayor unanimously voted on Monday to name Josh Tetzlaff as its new city administrator, pending successful contract negotiations.

DC narrows search to 6 for city administrator

During the last Dodge Center City Council Meeting, the Council narrowed down its search for a new City Administrator to six candidates.
The search began a few months ago when former city administrator Lee Mattson left to take a new post with Waseca.
While they narrowed down their search at that time, those names were still considered confidential as well as information about each candidate.

American hero

Robert Reeg, a 9/11 firefighter from Engine 44, called the Steele County Times office yesterday.I didn’t know the man, but I do know his friend, Jimmy Lanza, from ladder truck 43. I was informed that Lanza had been diagnosed with brain cancer last November.
“Jimmy’s at Mary Manning Walsh hospice now,” Reeg said with a break in his voice. “I was there with my care dog to visit him yesterday and he’s incommunicado.”

‘A feather in our hat’

Brett Joyce said about 1,500 people attended the 2016 Dodge County Expo – and at least that many attended the 19th-annual event Saturday, April 1 at Triton High School in Dodge Center.

Food Shelf concert set for March 26

The 23rd-annual Food Shelf Christian music concert will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26 at First Baptist Church in Kasson.
 
Performers, all from Dodge County, will include Teresa Scripture and her young sons; Concord Five, a group from West Concord; Bob & Lou Clifford; two groups from the First Baptist Church in Kasson; and Brian Knudson, a member of the Rochester Male Chorus. 
 

Voters re-elect township leaders

Dodge County held township elections March 14.All candidates who filed were up for re-election.
• Ashland Township - Town Supervisor, Steve Henslin; Town Treasurer, Karen Bryngelson.• Canisteo Township - Town Supervisor, Loren Torrens; Town Treasurer, Jackie• Claremont Township -Town Supervisor, Richard Wolf; Town Treasurer, Diana Eipers.• Concord Township - Town Supervisor, Dan Rabe; Town Treasurer, Beth Hodgman.
