K-M cheerleading wins second straight state title
The Kasson-Mantorville cheerleading team won its second straight competitive cheerleading championship as they placed first in a state competition on Jan. 30.
The state field included six teams in the preliminary round and K-M executed a flawless routine to enter the finals. After making a tweak to their routine, the girls had a strong performance to earn a spot in the grand championship round.
“Honestly, the first round was amazing,” K-M cheerleading coach Nikki Andrist declared. “Just when you thought it couldn’t look much better, it did.”
During the Grand Championship Round, the team brought even more energy and their stunts were higher and stronger than in the previous rounds to bring home the state championship.
