William Eugene Shobe Jr, 68, Dodge Center

William Eugene Shobe, Jr. passed away on August 19, 2023, surrounded by family after battling cancer of the esophagus. He was the loving father of Joshua Shobe and his wife, Beatriz and of Tamara Latchem and her husband Jacob, dear brother of Linda Locarnini, and cherished grandfather of Alex Shobe, Kateri Shobe, Miles Latchem, and Magnolia Latchem.

He was born on October 3, 1954, in Denver Colorado. He was a respected pastor, beloved reverend, teacher and counselor as well as a talented carpenter and multilingual traveler. He was an eloquent speaker, a compassionate minister, and a handy man who could fix or build just about anything. He will be remembered for his joyful heart, generous nature, sense of humor, and voice impressions. He loved his family and his community fiercely. He could converse in half a dozen languages, and was an excellent cook. He lived a life of service and he never met a stranger.

He was dedicated to his belief in God and served as a Seventh Day Baptist pastor for more than 30 years in multiple congregations across the United States.
