Paul J. Ingvaldson, 79, Blooming Prairie
Paul J. Ingvaldson, age 79, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Friday March 4, 2016, at Prairie Manor Care Center.
He was born March 30, 1936, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, the son of Clarence and Louise Ingvaldson. Paul was a lifelong resident of Blooming Prairie, graduating from Blooming Prairie High School in 1954. He served his country with the United States Army from 1954 to 1957. On Dec. 20, 1959, Paul was united in marriage to Betty Johnson at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie.
He worked for Lysne Construction for nearly twenty years building Prairie Manor and First Lutheran Church. Paul also built many homes in the Blooming Prairie and surrounding area while self-employed. He also worked alongside Dick Kruckeberg of Minimizer, helping to design the first prototype molds.
For the last 20 years, he was employed by KDC Inc Bus Company and had great enjoyment transporting children to and from school. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and VFW Post 878. You could often find Paul at the Village and Casey’s enjoying the company of his many friends, taking drives and going out to eat.
Paul is survived by his wife, Betty Ingvaldson of Blooming Prairie; two sons, Lance (Rozann) Ingvaldson of Blooming Prairie, and Lee Ingvaldson of San Francisco, California; one grandchild Jordan and three step-grandchildren Amber, Ashley and Jenna; two great-grandchildren, Brantly and Sylis; brother, Donald (Carol) Ingvaldson of Owatonna and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Pastor Charles Leonard and Pastor Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Military honors by American Legion Post 52 and VFW Post 878 will follow the service. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to First Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army.
