Patrick Boyum, 58, Hayfield

Patrick Boyum, a lifelong resident of rural Hayfield, MN, peacefully departed this world with his loving family by his side on January 3rd, 2024. Born on May 16, 1965, to Kendall and Julie Boyum, Patrick leaves behind a profound legacy of love and cherished memories.
Survived by his devoted wife, Sally (Knutson) Boyum, of 4 years, Patrick is remembered with affection by his daughters from Jean Boysen (Brown): Marissa Grant (Jesse), and Andra Boyum (Juan). Embracing his role as a stepfather, Patrick cherished his step-children from Sally: Nicole Reinicke (Austin), Carl, and Eric. His pride and joy extended to five grandchildren: Brielle, Everly, Freja, Amado, and Vivian.
Patrick is also remembered fondly by his three living sisters: Susan Powers, Karine Boyum-Greene, and Audrin Place (Donovan), along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and dear friends who were touched by his laughter, warmth and kindness.
A dedicated employee of Mayo Clinic for over 30 years in cardiovascular surgery, Patrick found immense joy in his work and valued the camaraderie of his colleagues. Outside of the workplace, he pursued his passions with enthusiasm. An avid hunter, Patrick found solace and connection in the great outdoors, and enjoyed being on ski-patrol for years. He loved scuba-diving and looked forward to his annual Cozumel trips where he captured still photos and videos of the reef and sea life. He shared a special bond with his father, indulging in a mutual love for many vintage cars but especially Corvettes. In earlier years, Patrick enjoyed piloting small airplanes where he was seen performing barrel rolls in the skies around Dodge Center.
As we bid farewell to Patrick Boyum, let us remember the joy and laughter he brought into our lives, and the enduring love he shared with family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace.
