Linda Bausma, 79, Byron
The memorial service for Linda K. Bausman, 79, a lifelong Byron, area resident will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday (July 2, 2024) at Christ Lutheran Church in Byron with Rev. Judy Thompson-Reitz officiating. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery. Mrs. Bausman died on Friday (June 21, 2024) of natural causes surround by her loving family at Mayo Clinic Rochester – St. Marys Campus.
Linda Kae Moen was born February 16, 1945, in Rochester, to Marvin and Berlean (Molde) Moen. She grew up in Rock Dell, and attended Byron schools, graduating from Byron High School in 1963. Following her graduation, she attended and earned her 2-year LPN Degree from St. Mary’s School of Practical Nursing in Rochester. Linda was married on August 21,1965 at East Saint Olaf Lutheran Church in Rock Dell to Gary E. Bausman. Following their marriage the couple lived in Byron, where they raised their children and continued to make their home. Linda was employed at Mayo Clinic in Rochester as an LPN for 38 years, as a school nurse at Jefferson Elementary in Rochester and following her retirement was employed as a lunch lady with Byron schools. Gary had a long career as an optician working at a number of optical stores in the area over the years. Mr. Bausman died on February 1, 2023. Linda was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church. Linda’s greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and dedicated her life to providing them all with ongoing love and support. She enjoyed attending all their activities, vacationing with her family and made birthdays and holidays special. Gary and Linda enjoyed spending their summers camping on the Mississippi River in Alma, WI and later at Roberd’s Lake in Faribault with friends. Following retirement, they spent winters together in Arizona. When Linda wasn’t busy with her family, she enjoyed reading and spent countless hours doing word search puzzles.
Linda is survived by son, John(Christie) of Byron; daughter, Jennifer(Eric) Schultz of New Prague; 7 grandchildren, Jake Schultz, Kayla(Andrew) Norgaard, Morgan Bausman, Brayden Schultz, Ethan Schultz, Tyler Bausman, and Carson Schultz; 4 great-grandchildren, Connor, Madelyn, Freya and Ember; sister, Cheryl(Richard) Strain of Bryon; brother-in-law, Jim Olson of Bunkerville, NV and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary, her parents, father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Winifred Bausman and sister-in-law, Sue Ann Olson.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday (July 1, 2024) at Christ Lutheran Church in Byron and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday morning at the church.
