Guillermo Memo Dominguez, 68, Blooming Prairie
Guillermo Memo Dominguez, age 68, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota died Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, Minnesota.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1948 in Robstown, Texas, the son of Juan Dominguez, Sr. and Adela – Ochoa Dominguez. He grew up in Texas and lived in Minnesota and Texas before settling in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota in 1990. He married Thressa Castillo in 1967 in Faribault, Minnesota. He worked for Quality Pork Producers for many years, and later at Southern Minnesota Sales. Thressa died in 1990. He was a member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church. Guillermo enjoyed going fishing, sitting around a campfire and playing his guitar.
Survivors include his daughter, Nancy (Richard) Gonzales of Blooming Prairie; two sons, Mario (Sylvia) Dominguez of Plainview, Texas and Richard Dominguez of Blooming Prairie; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Guadalupe Garcia of Dinuba, California, Maria (Reqino) Ortega of Dodge Center, Delfa (Jose Angel) Padilla of Austin, Adela Deluna of Bricelyn and Gloria (Robert) Salinas of Blooming Prairie and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thressa; brother, Juan Dominguez, Jr. and a niece, Marlena Pineda Grant.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment followed the service at the Blooming Prairie City Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18 at the Worlein – Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Memorials are preferred to the family.
