Eleanor I. Solseth-Kittleson, 94, Blooming Prairie

Eleanor I. Solseth-Kittleson, age 94 of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died peacefully Friday evening, Feb. 5, 2016, at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, Minnesota surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 25, 1921 in Winneshiek County, Iowa to Alonzo and Willamina (Radechel) Jacklin. Eleanor grew up on the family farm in Winneschiek County, Iowa and graduated from Harmony High School in 1938. On Dec. 10, 1942, Eleanor married Sibert G. Solseth. To this union, two daughters were born, Betty and LaNor. Sibert passed away on June 15, 1972. On April 12, 1975, Eleanor married Herbert Kittleson in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. Herbert passed away on June 24, 2000. Eleanor was a mother and home manager all of her life. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed needlepoint, reading and spending time with her family. Eleanor will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Survivors include her two daughters, Betty (Kenny) Behnken of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota and LaNor (Brian) McDonald of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, a step-son Howard (Jane) Kittleson of Owatonna, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Alonzo and Willamina Jacklin, her first husband, Sibert G. Solseth, her second husband, Herbert Kittleson, two great grandchildren, Tyler Jay Behnken and Katlynn Marie Behnken, and a sister, Dorothy Daskam. 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. Visitation was from 4 – 7 p.m. Monday at the Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota and one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.  Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, or First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.  Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
