Dawn Diane Zeller, 80, Kasson
Dawn Diane Zeller, age 80, of Kasson, MN peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Prairie Meadows Senior Living after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Dawn was born on June 1, 1944, at Mounds Park Hospital St. Paul to Melvin and Lorriane (Gillmaster) Hoveland. She graduated from St. Paul Central Class of 1962 and received her Bachelors of Science in Education degree from Augsburg College.
Dawn was a teacher at Triton Public Schools for 40 years, teaching 1st and 3rd grade and enjoyed substitute teaching after retirement. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson and Zwingli United Church of Christ in Berne. She had a great love of reading, music, and writing poems. She enjoyed playing bingo and putting puzzles together at Prairie Meadows along with her many visits with family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Dawn is survived by her children, Michelle (Mike) Karlen of Kasson, Christina (Kevin) Ehler of Cottage Grove, and Troy (Tabitha) Zeller of Alva, OK; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren with 2 soon to arrive; and 4 siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 301 8th Ave NW in Kasson with Pastor John Weisenburger officiating. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to her service at the church. Interment will be in Berne Cemetery in Berne.
