Darlene Elaine Carstensen, 78, Kasson

Darlene Elaine (Eggert) Carstensen, age 78, of Kasson, died of natural causes on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – St. Marys Campus in Rochester. 

The funeral was held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson, with Rev. Dana O’Brien officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Wildwood Cemetery in Wasioja. Memorials are preferred to the family.  

She was born on July 9, 1937 in Kasson, MN, to Herman “Butch” and Letha Eggert. Darlene lived in Dodge County all her life.  On Nov. 3, 1956, she married Clinton Ellis Carstensen in Rock Dell. They lived in rural Kasson all their married life. 

Darlene is survived by her daughters, Becky Rains of Bristol, Indiana and Evon Louks, Sebeka, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Carole Hotchkiss of Londsdale, MN and Janet Canfield of Osseo, Minnesota; brothers, August Eggert of West Concord and Richard Eggert of Kasson. 

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton who died on June 26, 2006; sons, Kenneth and David; parents; six brothers and one sister.
