Triton, Hayfield golf teams at Vikings Invitational

The Triton and Hayfield golf teams were just a couple of the many teams represented in the Hayfield Invitational Meet at The Oaks Golf Club, on Saturday, April 15.

Hayfield Girls: Avery Towey, 92; Carly Bronson, 92; Kristen Watson, 101; Chelsea Christopherson, 113.

Boys: Sam Tucker, 82; Ty Bronson, 97; Kolton Fiedler 89; Jaxon Harberts 84; The Hayfield girls finished 4th out of 8 teams. Shakopee won it for the boys. Hayfield did not have 4 valid boys’ scores, so they didn’t qualify as a team for boys. “I am very proud of the scores the Hayfield golfers put up, despite the chilly, wet conditions on Saturday. It was our first 18-hole meet, which is a battle of its own,” said Samantha Thurman, head golf coach.

Triton Boys: The boys finished in 7th Place with a team score of 363. Individuals: Riley Freiderich 87; Jude Gosse 87; Kaeden Ellingson 91; Kadyn Mulder 98; Isaiah Selthun 101; Isiah Holtermann 106; Girls: The girls finished in 7th Place with a team score of 505. Individuals: Tessa Tushaus 104; Talia Kelley 118; Kaya Wheeler 138; Alyssa Mulder 145.

“It was a cold day, especially after a few days in the 80s. That and some rain and wind made conditions difficult, but it was nice to get out and get a meet in. I was very pleased with how our day went for both the boys’ and girls’ teams. Our three seniors contributed nicely, with Riley and Jude both posting 87s, and Talia shooting a 118. Tessa Tushaus had the highest place finish for us, coming in 15th in a strong field of girls. Our Junior boys: Kaeden Ellingson and Kadyn Mulder rounded out our team score for the boys. Katya Wheeler and Alyssa Mulder posted nice scores, and I’m looking forward to seeing their growth this year. Isaiah Selthun had a couple of birdies and showed some promise; and Isiah Holtermann played some very steady golf. I’m looking forward to how the season could progress for all of our golfers,” explained Head Coach Joe Hansen.
