Kasson-Mantorville girls take a loss against Lourdes
Tuesday night, Sept. 15, the Kasson-Mantorville KoMets girls soccer hosted another home game against one of the best teams in southeastern Minnesota, Rochester Lourdes.
This night was Senior Night and K-M recognized their three seniors, Amber Schultz, Taylor Ludvigsen and Addie Evans. “All three have had great soccer careers at K-M!,” said head coach Chris Soderberg. “It’s tragic that these seniors are playing their last year of high school soccer in a funky new school year handling COVID-19.”
Unfortunately, Lourdes is a tough team and ranked #9 in the state, and the K-M girls could not get a goal in against them. However, even though the KoMets lost 0-3 against Lourdes, they still had a tough fight and they played pretty well in the second half.
“We made some mistakes in the first half and a good team like Lourdes will make you pay,” Soderberg added. “We played a much better second half and had some good opportunities to score, but they were just the better team.”
With playing an aggressive team like this, you start to learn what you need to work on for future games to come and how to become an even better player, he said.
K-M was scheduled to play Lourdes again this week on the Eagles home turf.
