K-M track/field teams visit River Falls
The KoMets girls and boys track and field teams competed at the University of Wisconsin/River Falls (Knowles Center) Indoor Opener, on Thursday, March 23.
“With this being the first meet of the year, along with these kids never running in an indoor track, they went out and proved themselves. I am so proud of them and so excited to see what the rest of this year brings!” declared Co-Head Coach Ally Schlaeger.
“I’d just like to say that I was very impressed at our early season performance, and it’s looking great for the rest of the season. David Obst took first in the 3200m, Alexie Awe third in the long jump, Emmett Ricke third in high jump,” said Co-Head Coach AJ Jennissen.
“Overall, it was a very successful meet all around. We came in, had a good showing, and can now focus on our areas of improvement. Everyone rallied for each other, and we’re excited to see where this season takes us. And now, a team slogan has been developed organically: bring home the bread. That’s something we’ll aim to do at each meet this year,” Co-Head Coach Mitchell Noel explained.
