The Lady Bears fast-pitch team defeated Pine Island, 5-0, on Thursday, May 11. Byron sisters Macy and Mia Borowski made school history, becoming the first sisters to each hit a home run in the same game.

Hayfield girls topple Hurricanes
The Hayfield softball team defeated the Houston Hurricanes, 5-2, on Tuesday, May 9, in non-conference action. Handing the Hurricanes their first loss of the year, the Vikings moved to 6-7 overall on the season. The Houston girls now sit at 12-1 on the waning 2023 tour. The Lady Vikes posted three big runs in the opening stanza, and that proved to be enough to secure the upset victory.
