BYRON — The Lady Bears used another big day from Macy Borowski to sprint past Lourdes, on Thursday, May 4. Borowski went 3 for 4 with a pair of RBI and also picked up the win on the mound, allowing just one run on two hits with 13 strikeouts in five innings. Lindsey Schultz also finished with multiple hits for Byron, going 2 for 4 with three runs scored.

Both teams were strong in the pitcher’s circle on Wednesday, May 3, but St. Anthony Village was just a little bit stronger at the plate, in their 2-0 victory over the Byron Bears. Macy Borowski started the game for Byron, and she recorded 18 outs. Byron: Macy Borowski, 1 for 2; Lindsey Schultz, 1 for 3; Talli Behrens, 1 for 3. The Byron softball team continues to take charge on the diamonds. Most recently, the girls defeated Cannon Falls, 10-0, and they toppled Chatfield, 7-4, both on Monday, May 1. Byron sits atop the Hiawatha Valley Conference with an impressive 9-2 overall mark.

K-M softball girls shut-out Tigers

Ella Babcock threw a gem, allowing zero runs and besting the Lake City Tigers by a score of 10-0, on Tuesday, May 2. The KoMets put up seven runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Abby Simons, Aubrey Grover, DuBois, Richards, and Babcock. Ella went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out 11 and walking one. The shutout over Lake City also secured the 100th win for Coach Paul Mann.

KM softball girls win again

Through all of the postponements and cancellations, the Kasson-Mantorville softball team sits at 7-3 overall in the standings. On Monday, May 1, the KoMet bats were on fire. The girls hit three home runs enroute to a 6-4 victory over Stewartville. Calleigh Richards went for the long ball in the second inning. Aubrey Grover went yard in the third inning and Abby Simons put one out in the fourth inning.

The Lady Cobras were tripped-up, 11-6, on Thursday, May 4, by a tough Blooming Prairie team.
